Lock My Folders Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 2, 2026

Lock My Folders is designed to work locally on your device. We do not collect data from this app.

Data Collection

Lock My Folders does not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share personal data.

The app does not use analytics, advertising SDKs, tracking SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs, accounts, cloud sync, or remote servers.

Files You Choose

Lock My Folders accesses only the folders, vault files, and mount locations you choose through macOS file picker dialogs.

When you lock a folder, the app asks macOS to create an encrypted sparsebundle disk image, copies the selected folder contents into that vault, and moves the original folder to Trash only after the encrypted copy succeeds.

When you unlock a vault, the app mounts the encrypted sparsebundle at the location you choose.

Passphrases

Lock My Folders does not store your vault passphrase. Passphrases are used only to create or mount the local encrypted sparsebundle.

If you forget a vault passphrase, Lock My Folders cannot recover it.

Network Access

Lock My Folders does not require network access for its core functionality.

Data Retention

Because Lock My Folders does not collect data, it does not retain user data on any server.

Encrypted vaults and files remain on your device at the locations you choose.

Changes to This Policy

If the app changes in a way that affects privacy, this policy will be updated before or when that change is released.
