How it works
A local vault, opened only when you need it
The app wraps selected folder contents in an encrypted disk image that macOS can mount and unmount.
1. Choose a suitable folder
Select a project or document folder. The app blocks unsafe account-level and system locations, existing sparsebundles, and a vault destination inside the folder being protected.
2. Create the encrypted vault
Choose a passphrase of at least eight characters. By default, the new .sparsebundle is saved in the selected folder's parent directory. macOS creates an APFS disk image with AES-256 encryption.
3. Copy and verify
The app copies resource forks and extended attributes, then independently compares directory entries, regular files, symlinks, sizes, and file bytes. A mismatch stops the process and leaves the original folder untouched.
4. Move the original to Trash
Only after verification, and after you have acknowledged the safety prompts, the app asks macOS to move the original folder to Trash. If macOS cannot do so, the verified vault remains ready and the original stays in place. There is no permanent-delete fallback.
5. Unlock and work in Finder
Select the vault and enter its passphrase. The unlocked location defaults beside the vault file. Use files normally while the encrypted volume is mounted.
6. Relock
Close documents and apps using the mounted volume, then relock it from the app. The empty mount folder is removed after a successful unmount.
